We program out of passion, with a single goal: to make working at the computer as easy as possible. What we build follows our customers' wishes — not our own preferences. That is why we always start with the same question: which task costs you the most time every day?

Who is behind it
Behind AlpenApps is PicUpgrades e.U., based in Feldkirch, Austria. The owner is Samuel Welte. So you talk to the person who also does the development — not to a sales team and then to someone else.
Above all, that means short paths: you explain your request once, and it lands directly with the person who builds it. Questions do not pass through three hands, and if something gets stuck, you know whom to call.
AlpenApps automates online shops for retailers in Vorarlberg and the Lake Constance region: new products go online by themselves, prices and stock levels stay current, invoice and shipping label are ready to go.

Why we do this
Most businesses do not even notice how much time their daily computer work costs — and how short it could be. That is exactly what drives us: we see a task that eats 50 minutes every day and know it can become one click.
A typical example: a supplier sends a list of new items. Number, description, price and picture are typed into the shop by hand, line by line, every week all over again. That can be set up differently — the list arrives, the items are ready in the shop, someone looks them over and approves them.
Whether it pays off the same way in your business is something we will only tell you once we have seen it. Promising numbers before knowing the work steps would not be honest.

How we work
- Look first, then build. We look at what really eats time in your shop. If something is not worth it, we tell you that too.
- Your shop stays yours. We keep working in your existing system.
- Nothing runs silently. Automatic changes — new prices, for example — are proposed, not carried out behind your back. Approval stays with you.
- Plain language instead of jargon. You get explanations you can act on without any IT knowledge.
