Frequently asked questions

Which label sheets fit?
Five A4 sheets are preset: Avery Zweckform 3474 (70 × 37 mm, 24 labels), Avery Zweckform 3475 and HERMA 4453 (70 × 36 mm, 24), HERMA 4614 (66 × 33.87 mm, 24), HERMA 4608 (48.26 × 25.4 mm, 44) and HERMA 4606 (38.1 × 21.2 mm, 65). The measurements come from the manufacturers' product data and die-cut templates. For any other sheet choose "Custom size" and enter the label size, columns, rows, margins and gaps — they are on the pack or in the manufacturer's template. If a sheet is already partly used, enter the first free label under "Start at", counted row by row from the top left.
How do I print so the labels line up?
Open the PDF and print it at its original size: in the print dialog choose "Actual size" or "Scale 100 %", never "Fit to page" or "Shrink to printable area" — that shrinks everything by a few percent, and the labels drift out of place towards the edges. Paper size A4, portrait. Print a test page on plain paper first and hold it against the light together with the label sheet.
The labels are offset — what can I do?
Many printers pull the sheet in a millimetre or two off. Put the test print on the label sheet and measure how far the print sits from the label edge. Enter that value under "Print offset": "Right" moves everything to the right, "Down" moves it down, a minus moves it the other way (for example −1.5). The offset applies equally to every label; the dashed outlines in the preview show the labels without offset.
Where do I get GTIN or EAN numbers?
A GTIN (formerly EAN) is a globally unique number that you license from GS1 — GS1 Austria, GS1 Germany, GS1 Switzerland or the GS1 organisation of your country. Amazon checks barcodes against the GS1 database and Google Shopping requires valid GTINs: invented or resold numbers are rejected there. The tool checks length and check digit. An invalid GTIN is never printed but listed under "Notes"; the label then gets a Code 128 of the SKU — enough for your own warehouse and till — or no barcode.
What happens to my product list?
Nothing. The list is read and the PDF is created in your browser; prices and product data are never sent to a server or stored anywhere.
