Are passwords stored?

No. Every password comes from your browser's random number generator and is stored nowhere — not with us, not in your browser. As soon as you close the page, it is gone. So copy it straight into your password manager.

How secure are 16 characters?

With all four character types, 16 characters give around 100 bits of randomness. Even an attacker with a stolen password database and ten billion guesses per second would need longer than the age of the universe. That is enough for a shop login — and more characters do no harm.

Can I upload the codes straight into Shopify?

Yes. Download the CSV and import it in Shopify under Discounts → Create discount → Discount codes. The file contains exactly one column named "code", just as Shopify expects.

Why are the characters O and 0 missing?

Because they cannot be told apart on paper, over the phone or in many fonts — the same goes for 1, l and I. A discount code gets typed in; a character the customer has to guess costs you the order. For passwords you can deliberately allow these characters.
