Switch Shop System: Take Your Products Along
Wix, WooCommerce, Shopware or Shopify — drop the export of your old shop, download the import file for the new one
Frequently asked questions
- Which shop systems can I switch between?
- Between Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix and Shopware 6, in every direction — including from Shopify back to WooCommerce. From other systems (JTL, Gambio, PrestaShop, Magento …) use "Other system": the columns of your file are matched automatically and you check the matching.
- What is transferred?
- Products with name, description, variants (such as colour and size), prices, compare-at prices, SKUs, barcodes, stock, weight, images, categories, tags and brand. Not customers, orders, reviews or passwords — no shop system can take over passwords, customers set a new one in the new shop.
- How do the images get into the new shop?
- The file contains the addresses of the images in the old shop. During the import the new shop loads every image from there itself — you do not need to export any photos. For that, the old shop must still be online during the import. If an image cannot be loaded, WooCommerce and Shopware skip the whole product.
- Will my product data be uploaded?
- No. The file is read and converted in your browser; prices and stock levels never leave your device. Only with "Other system" do we send the column names (such as "SKU") to our server, which has them matched by an AI model via the OpenRouter service — sample values only if you tick the box.
- What is different with Shopware?
- Shopware's default export does not contain the names of variants and categories, only IDs. So drop three exports together: "Default product" (with "Export variants"), "Default properties" and "Default category". As the target, Shopware gets two files — import the properties first, then the products — and a tax rate, because Shopware needs both net and gross prices. Shopware creates this rate as its own entry (such as "20 %"); you can rename it under Settings → Tax.
- Can I import the file twice?
- With Shopware, yes: the products get fixed IDs, a second import updates them. Shopify overwrites products with the same handle only if you tick that option during the import; WooCommerce skips products whose SKU already exists. Importing into an empty shop is the safest.
