Frequently asked questions

How is the forecast calculated?
It starts from the balance you enter. Up to today, all planned income and expenses and every invoice marked as paid after that date are added — that is your balance today. For the next 90 days, planned payments count on their date and open invoices on their due date: invoices to customers as incoming, invoices from suppliers as outgoing. The lowest balance is the lowest end-of-day balance. Everything is calculated to the cent, without estimates.
What does “overdue” mean?
An invoice is overdue when its due date has passed and it has not been marked as paid. The forecast assumes the money arrives or leaves today. Because an overdue customer invoice might not be paid at all, its total is also shown as “Overdue receivables” next to the key figures. “Remind” creates a polite payment reminder to copy or open as an email.
How do recurring entries work?
An entry repeats monthly, quarterly or yearly from its first date, optionally until an end date. The day stays the same; if a month does not have that day, the last day of the month is used — the 31st becomes the 28th in February (29th in a leap year) and the 31st again in March.
What happens to my data?
Without signing in, everything stays in this browser’s storage. With a free account, the whole dataset saves itself to your AlpenApps account and is available on every device. Nothing is sent to anyone else; there is no connection to your bank — you enter the figures yourself or import them as CSV. “Export CSV” gives you your own backup at any time.
Does this replace bookkeeping or tax advice?
No. The tool is a planning aid for your own liquidity — not bookkeeping and not tax or financial advice. VAT, tax prepayments and social insurance only appear if you enter them as planned expenses.
