Who is SAMIS GmbH?
SAMIS GmbH is a family business. It sells hats in its own online shop.
What was the starting point?
The shop is run alongside a full-time job. Almost everything was done by hand. On top of that, the move from Wix to Shopify was coming up.
What alternative was on the table?
A quote of around 30,000 euros for a photo box and 360-degree software.
That would have meant around 50 photos per hat. Plus stitching the images together and entering them in Shopify. An estimated two hours per product.
What was built?
AlpenApps from Feldkirch in Vorarlberg built an app for the phone. New goods are captured right there: photos, data sheet, description by voice recording.
An ordinary phone photo becomes a studio photo. Images, description in German and English, SEO data and the transfer to Shopify run automatically.
What has changed?
Today four phone photos are enough. About ten minutes later the product is ready for the shop.
SEO data, which was partly missing before, is now created along the way. And according to the shop owner, these are the best product photos he has ever had.
The process is so simple that in the family business it is not just one person who can do it.

Where do the times come from?
Both times are estimates, not timed. The roughly two hours apply to the photo box route as it was quoted. The roughly ten minutes are the estimated effort today.
What can the solution not do?
The app takes care of the image editing. Whoever wants to control every tiny detail of the image themselves is better served by a photo box.
